So its been a while since I've updated this thing and to be honest I've sort of lost my desire to keep this journal alive at all. Chances are the people who read this probably aren't too interested in what I have to say, not that that's a negative thing but there's not really a point in updating anymore if no one cares. That's what I have my deadjournal for and it satisfies all my journaly needs anyway.

Just some general things:

- School has been VERY hard. I have a paper to write almost every night and a ridiculous amount of reading to do for the rest of my classes. I won't even get started with pirates, that class is just a horrible joke.

- People seem really down lately and I like to think it has to do with the "winter-tis-the-season-for-depression!" thing but most people are just unhappy with school in general. I for one really enjoy DePaul...it's close enough to my house that I can escape and I know I can always get away when I have to. If I can go here all four years without any serious money problems I will. (Which sort of crushes my Califoria dreams but at this point I'm not ready to have an APARTMENT, let alone move that far away. Junior year maybe.)

- I've learned a lot about myself lately, good and bad. And I've learned a lot about other people lately...mostly bad. I took my New Years Resolution to heart and stopped hanging on everyone's every word and caring about what they think of me.. which is a HUGE change for me. The change makes me feel strong and sad at the same time; strong that I can like myself when others don't and sad because I wish that they would. Why bother trying to change someone's mind when there's no chance of change? God I COULD quite Brokeback Mountain right now and say something along the lines of "When you can't change things, you just have to stand them"..but I wont.

Or maybe this idea of newfound strength is just a lie to myself to cover the fact that I'm still unhappy. But aren't the two one in the same?

Regardless, I'm thankful that (even though I forget it sometimes) I have a wide support group that I can turn to when I feel alone. And elite workout parties make life SO GOOD. Even if it's shallow and stupid to say, I actually LIKE myself when I workout...which is a problem when I stop because then I feel gross and useless. Food shouldn't have such an effect on my outlook on myself but it does.

Anyway, goodbye for now livejournal. We've shared about 5 entries and 3 icons together and it's been fun. I'm going to retreat to my land of deadjournal and maybe I'll be back one day. Maybe.

I hope everyone has a really good day! ~~Even all you Jews out there~~ Christmas has been really nice so far, I got a lot of nice gifts from my Mom, brother, Kayla, Grandma and Grandpa, my uncle Tim, and Pat's mom and even got to sleep in today! Except all the snow melted...but I have faith that there will be more. I think I decided I'm going to buy myself a bra from Victoria's Secret as a Christmas gift to myself (that's my idea of extravagent). Hope everyone has a really nice holiday!

Hey all you out-of-state DePaul kids! It snowed! Not any of that "2-4" inches of snow crap either so you'll get to experience the horror up close when you get back. (With the exception of Katie and Rosie, whom I am willing to bet experience a lot more snow where they're from) And good news! The snow will continue for the next 2374987 days! Hey Matt! BUY SOME PANTS!!

My mom used to tell me that when she was really young it snowd so much people couldn't get out of their houses. Like, they could only see a quarter of their cars? I don't know if I believe it, but I've been wanting to top that record ever since I heard about it. KEEP COMING SNOW! (Just not when people are driving, then you can stop. Thank you)

In other news, I got a job at my mom's work that pays pretty darn good. Except now I'll be working 40 hours a week for the first time in my life. Dundun.

I got my final grades today: A, A, A, B+. B+. IN SOCIOLOGY. I HATE THAT TEACHER SO MUCH. I did ALL the extra credit I possibly could and showed up to every class and he gave me a B. HE SAID HE WOULDN'T DO THAT. That ONE B dropped me from a 4.0 to a 3.8. I hate college.

My teacher STILL hasn't updated my Sociology grade...he said he'd have it up by today. Anyway, life is fine. I'm still jobless which means I've been sitting around being bored all day. The only productive thing I've done is make a purse:

One reason why I missed Kayla: NERDINESS. When we were bored on Friday instead of cooking, shopping, or watching tv, we had a photoshoot. We have problems.

If I don't get feedback from my mom's work by Wednesday, I'm getting a yucky job on my own (IE: CVS). I need something to do.

One week later = 133.7. Went down 2 pounds but I lost 4.5% body fat :) And I really haven't changed my diet at all...just got rid of fries and cookies.

I AM NO LONGER GOING TO BE A FATTY! That's right my friends, NO COOKIES FOR ME. So those of you who once bribed me into performing sexual activities with you by waving a donut in my face, TIMES HAVE CHANGED! Tonight Sarah, Linni, and I began our workout plan and it went really well! It's a lot easier to do things when you have friends.

I AM INSPIRED

Granted, our divine workout plan probably won't work as perfectly as planned but it'll make me feel good while it lasts. I wouldn't mind losing 5lbs before break, but I'm mostly concerned about losing body fat (which is creeping up to obesity status.) This isn't a stupid girly, "OMG I WANT TO LOSE 10 LBS!!11!!" thing, I haven't been feeling too awesome about myself lately and I think this will make me happier :D.

In other news: We need toilet paper. Badly.

Tomorrow is Thursday which is obviously the best day of the week because I only have one class...ignoring the fact that I have an enormously important paper to write tomorrow. That minor detail can be overlooked for the sake of my optimism.
